Asian Infrastructure & Real Estate Fund

The fund is managed with a view to deliver investors medium to long term capital growth, with volatility generally in line with Asian equity indices. 

Investment Strategy

The fund invests in a portfolio of Asian based infrastructure and real estate securities that own high barrier to entry physical assets. These include ports, toll roads, shopping centers, industrial, residential real estate, commercial buildings, regulated utilities and airports. These assets are generally characterized by low relative economic sensitivity, pricing power and long duration cash flows. The Fund will also at points in the cycle invest in development assets in these areas.

Armytage Asian Fund - Infrastructure & Real Estate Fund - Investment Philosophy

We run a research driven investment process aimed at investing on the basis of differential insight. We seek to only invest where we have a logical and transparent investment case that can be supported by facts and logic grounded in industrial and behavioral economics. We are a high conviction fund manager, with the fund typically holding less than 25 securities. We do not manage against a benchmark, and will only hold a position in a security if we are confident of an absolute return.

 

Risk

Though we are a high conviction manager, we understand the risk of being wrong, thus risk is constrained to ensure that the fund is not overly exposed to an individual view being incorrect.  We manage risk in a stratified fashion, at the individual security level, at the asset class level, and at the country level.
